Gas Mixtures

OE Meyer Co. offers medical gas mixtures for use in calibration, diagnostics, research and inhalation therapy applications.  Each is classified by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a drug or device and are produced in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).  OE Meyer Co. internal audits and FDA inspections ensure ongoing medical standards are practiced.

Mixtures used as an atmosphere for growth of biological cultures containing aerobes. Gases are available in the following mixtures:
  • Carbon Dioxide 5%, Oxygen 95%
  • Carbon Dioxide 2.5%; Oxygen 21%; Nitrogen 76.5%
  • Carbon Dioxide 5%; Oxygen 21%; Nitrogen 74%
Mixtures used as an atmosphere for growth of biological cultures containing anaerobes. Cultures of these microorganisms thrive when deprived of oxygen. Gases are available in the following mixtures:
  • Carbon Dioxide 5%; Hydrogen 10%; Nitrogen Balance
  • Carbon Dioxide 10%; Hydrogen 5%; Nitrogen Balance
  • Carbon Dioxide 10%; Hydrogen 10%; Nitrogen Balance
  • Carbon Dioxide 97%; Hydrogen 3%
  • Carbon Dioxide 5%; Nitrogen 95%
  • Carbon Dioxide Biological; 99.99% Min.; Max. oxygen 10 ppm
Mixtures used in the calibration of blood gas analyzers. Gases are available in the following mixtures:
  • Carbon Dioxide 5%; Oxygen 12%; Nitrogen Balance
  • Carbon Dioxide 5%, Oxygen 20%; Nitrogen Balance
  • Carbon Dioxide 7%; Oxygen 7%; Nitrogen Balance
  • Carbon Dioxide 10%; Oxygen 21%; Nitrogen Balance
  • Carbon Dioxide 12%; Oxygen 21%; Nitrogen Balance
  • Carbon Dioxide 10%; Nitrogen 90%
  • Carbon Dioxide 5%; Nitrogen 95%

Lasers have proven to be more precise and less traumatic for many surgical applications. Gases are available in the following mixtures:
  • Carbon Dioxide 4.5%; Nitrogen 13.5%; Balance Helium
  • Carbon Dioxide 6%; Nitrogen 14%; Balance Helium
  • Carbon Dioxide 7%; Nitrogen 14%; Balance Helium
  • Carbon Dioxide 9%; Nitrogen 15%; Balance Helium
  • Carbon Dioxide 9.4%; Nitrogen 19.2%; Balance Helium

Each gas is a multicomponent medical drug mixture. Each mixture is blended using USP and NF medical grade components. Gases are available in the following mixtures:
  • Carbon Dioxide USP in Air: component ranges – Carbon Dioxide 1-10% USP; Oxygen 20-22% USP; Nitrogen 68-79%
  • Component Ranges – Carbon Dioxide 1-30%; Oxygen 70-99%
  • Component Ranges – Helium 1-80% USP; Oxygen 20-99%
  • Component Ranges – Oxygen 23.5-99% USP; Nitrogen 1.0-76.5%
  • Component Ranges – Carbon Dioxide 1.0-10.0% USP; Oxygen 21.1-50.0% USP; Nitrogen 40.0-76.9%
  • Component Ranges – Helium 1.0-20.0% USP; Oxygen 19.5-50.0% USP; Nitrogen 30.0-79.5%

Each medical gas mixture is used in pulmonary function testing:
  • Carbon Monoxide 0.1%; Oxygen 21%; Balance Nitrogen
  • Carbon Monoxide 0.3%; Helium 10%; Oxygen 21%; Balance Nitrogen
  • Carbon Monoxide 0.3%; Neon 0.5%; Oxygen 21%; Balance Nitrogen
  • Carbon Monoxide 0.3%; Neon 0.3%; Oxygen 21%; Balance Nitrogen
  • Carbon Monoxide 0.3%; .03% Methane 21% Oxygen; Balance Nitrogen
